Democracy House conducted lectures on international humanitarian law for cadets of Ostroh and Lutsk Military Lyceums 

On February 26-27, 2019, Democracy House conducted lectures on international humanitarian law for cadets of Ostroh and Lutsk Military Lyceums.
The lectures were conducted within a project “Promotion of international humanitarian law among Ukrainian military servants” which Democracy House implements with the support of the Human Rights Fund of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
During the lectures, the experts of Democracy House briefed the cadets on the origin of international humanitarian law, the rights of combatants in armed conflict, the protection of civilian persons, the treatment of prisoners of war. In addition, the experts stressed that the observance of human rights by Ukrainian soldiers will contribute to strengthening a public image of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
